Message from Director (HR)
The global Oil and Gas sector is undergoing significant transformations, shaped by dynamic market conditions, technological advancements, and environmental considerations. In India, the oil and gas sector plays a crucial role in meeting the country's energy requirements. The country has also been actively working towards diversifying its energy sources with increased focus on renewable and alternate energy opportunities. As an organization operating in this fast‐paced industry, it is imperative that we stay ahead of the curve and equip ourselves with the competencies needed to adapt and excel.
We firmly believe that nurturing talent and investing in the continuous growth of our workforce are pivotal factors for sustainable success. With this principle in mind, GAIL Training Institute (GTI) has meticulously curated comprehensive training programs for the upcoming year, designed to unlock every employee’s potential and enabling excellence in respective roles.
The Annual Training Calendar is a comprehensive roadmap that outlines a diverse range of learning opportunities, customized to address both individual and organizational requirements. It strives to foster a culture of continuous learning and development, where everyone has access to the methods and resources needed to thrive in this dynamic industry. GTI has taken on the tremendous mantle to enrich and enlighten the human resources of GAIL through this year’s training calendar which covers a wide spectrum of learning opportunities, including Technical programmes, Leadership Development workshops, soft skill enhancement and technology – driven modules including AI. Identification of focus areas has been done within the organization for strengthening capabilities in existing areas and for developing capabilities in new business areas in consultation with respective process owners to align the training strategies with organizational goals and business plan.
I am happy to note that GAIL Training Institute (GTI) has played a critical role in developing National Occupational Standards (NOS) & Qualification Packs (QP) for mid‐stream sector through Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC). GTI is also contributing as a member of various Skill Development Societies in running Skill Development Institutes at Bhubaneswar, Vishakhapatnam, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Guwahati and Rae Bareli. To support National Skill Development Mission, GTl is providing skill‐based trainings to create a pool of skilled manpower for City Gas Distribution n GTI has also been entrusted with the responsibility of promoting a culture of “Entrepreneurship” among the spouses of GAIL employees posted at remote locations. The initiative named “GAIL‐ABHA” is an attempt to cultivate and hand‐hold the spouses of GAIL employees in the journey of creating entrepreneurs.
In last few years, many new training initiatives were taken at GAIL including focused programs on M&A, LNG Shipping, E&P, Contract Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Gas & Petrochemical Marketing & Pricing and Leadership Development programs, awareness about Net Zero, Renewable Energy etc. in association with institution experts and e‐learning programs in association with Harvard Publishing. Mentoring initiatives of GTI have helped the fresh recruits to acclimatize themselves into the organization culture and endow them an opportunity to comprehend GAIL’s business model, its processes and elucidate their functional and technical doubts.
Employee training and development programs are not just a discretionary investment but a strategic imperative for GAIL. By empowering employees with the necessary skills, knowledge, and opportunities, the company aspires to attain competitive advantage and nurture an atmosphere of innovation and organizational agility to navigate an ever‐changing business landscape.
Prioritizing employee learning and development remains a cornerstone for accelerating progress, fostering growth, and ensuring long‐term success for GAIL.
I extend my sincere appreciation to the GAIL Training Institute for their untiring efforts in developing this diverse and exhaustive training calendar and proffer my best wishes towards their commitment for delivering best in class learning and development solutions to GAIL employees as well as external stakeholders in the Energy Sector.
Wishing you a phenomenal year of learning experiences, personal growth and outstanding achievements.

Message from Executive Director (Training)
Learning is the core of living. Curiosity or the quest to explore is one of the natural instincts of a human being and it is a continuous, lifelong process. In fact, the quest for learning is the essence of individual and organizational excellence. According to the Bhagawadgeeta, ‘There is nothing so purifying in this world as Gyana’.
In today’s extremely dynamic and complex business environment, any organization can excel only if it has the ability to learn faster than its competitors. Such an ability provides the cutting edge to the organization and becomes its USP.
It is with the above philosophy that GAIL Training Institute (GTI) has been established by GAIL India Limited to facilitate continuous Learning and Development (L&D) of its members. Today, GTI is committed to shaping the future of the hydrocarbon industry and is well equipped to train manpower at all levels, covering the entire range of activities related to Gas Transmission, Gas Processing, City Gas Distribution (CGD), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Petrochemicals, etc.
In the changing world now, Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, etc. are transforming the organizations across the globe. GTI being the torchbearer in L&D has incorporated such concepts into its L&D framework and has started imparting training in all such areas relating to Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), etc.
Acknowledging and firmly believing that organizational learning is a multi-dimensional and dynamic process that includes cognitive, behavioural and social elements, GTI has prepared its Annual Training Calendar (ATC) 2024-25. The ATC of GTI, in its ‘New Avatar’ (electronic form) provides a glimpse of the training programs & schedule, the categories (functional, cross-functional and soft skills), topics and most importantly, the capabilities of GTI.
Thanking all Gyan Pipaasus (those having genuine and intense quest for learning) and wishing all a happy journey to learning.
